Thaddeus Miles Honored with Beacon of Light Award

Congratulations to Thaddeus Miles (Equitable Business Development), who was recognized with the Beacon of Light Award from My Life My Choice during an event at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum on June 2. My Life My Choice works to end the exploitation and trafficking of young people. Thaddeus was honored alongside actress and activist Ashley Judd.

Ribbon is Cut at Newcastle Saranac in the South End

MassHousing was well represented at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Newcastle Saranac in Boston's South End. MassHousing provided Fenway CDC and the Schochet Companies with $30.3 million in financing to support an extension of affordability and extensive renovations at the 97-unit development. The MassHousers at the event, pictured below from left, are Kathleen Evans, Mark Teden, Sebastian Zapata, Hana Migliorato, Cynthia Lacasse, Beverly Estes-Smargiassi and Chrystal Kornegay.

Ground is Broken at JJ Carroll in Brighton

MassHousing was also out in force to help 2Life Communities celebrate the start of work at the JJ Carroll Apartments in Brighton. MassHousing provided a total of $46.2 million in financing to help redevelop the public housing community, demolishing the existing 64 units and constructing 144 units for low-income older adults. Among those on hand for the event were Chrystal Kornegay, Cynthia Lacasse, Tom Farmer and Mark Teden (pictured third from the right above).

HomeOwnership on the Road

HomeOwnership's Goretti Joaquim (second from the left above) discussed MassHousing's down payment assistance and affordable mortgage programs with 50 attendees at the Realtor Association of Southeastern Mass. Networking and Affiliate Night, held outdoors in New Bedford. A number of MassHousing partner lenders were also in attendance, including Guild Mortgage, Radius Financial and Bristol County Savings.

June Book Club Discussion, June 24th


The MassHousing Book Club will discuss Randy Rainbow's Playing with Myself on Friday, June 24 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. via Teams. All MassHousing staff are invited to read the memoir and join in the discussion.
