Diocesan House Welcomes an Interim Transition Officer

As we enter into a time of transition as staff, we are pleased to announce that the Rev'd Michael Singer has agreed to serve the diocese as a Transition Officer, on an interim basis, following the retirement of the Rev'd Canon Matthew Stockard. Deacons of East Carolina: The Ven. Janet Sueiro Rodman

This week we are highlighting our Archdeacon, Janet Sueiro Rodman. From time to time, we will be sharing the stories of the East Carolina deacons in News & Notes. The hope is that these brief biographies and updates will not only serve to inform, but help paint a picture of what diaconal ministry looks like in East Carolina. You can find Janet's bio here.
Upcoming Integrity East Carolina Gathering

The next Integrity East Carolina meeting will be held on Saturday, April 27th at St. Timothy's, Greenville at 11:30am. To register for the gathering, click here. Please do so by Wednesday, April 24th, so that we have a head count for the group.

Upcoming Cursillo Weekend

The next Cursillo Weekend will take place at Trinity Center from April 25-28, 2019. Margaret Suggs, of St. Timothy’s Greenville will be the weekend rector at EC 98. Please note that the Clausura (closing ceremony) will be Sunday, April 28 at a new time of 3:00pm. Upcoming Choral Evensong Led by Schola Cantorum

All are invited to attend the upcoming choral evensong sung by Schola Cantorum at St. Paul's, Greenville on Sunday, April 7th at 5pm.
On Saturday, June 8th from 10 AM until 2 PM the first Diocesan Life Road Show will be hosted at St. Paul's, Edenton. We are encouraging diocesan leaders (lay or ordained) to bring teams of 2-4 people from your ministry or parish. We hope teams of leaders will come away from the workshop with resources they can utilize to better "Go in Peace to Love and Serve the Lord!" Resources and tools will be shared on curating records, digital communications, programmatic and calendar planning, as well as formation resource sharing. Workshops will be offered in these areas as well as learning over lunch. Registration is can be found here and the cost is $20 per person.
Camp Hope

Christ Church, New Bern sponsors Camp Hope, which is a week-long summer camp for children who have a parent in prison. The purpose of the ministry is to break the cycle of incarceration for the children. The church provides coordination, registration of campers, scholarships and adult volunteers who go to camp with the children. Volunteers are needed to pray, make calls, send cards, help with arrangements, and assist in registration as well as serving as Adult Volunteers to go to camp. 31st Annual Conference on Church Music in the Anglican Tradition

This year's Conference on Church Music will take place at Trinity Center f rom August 15th through 18th . Our clinician will be   Dan Bara , Professor of Choral Music and the Director of Choral Activities at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia. To learn more about the conference and get registered, click here .

Episcopal Church Scholarship Application Deadline Coming Soon

Applications are now being accepted for educational scholarships from The Episcopal Church for the 2019-2020 academic year. A scholarship applicant must be an Episcopalian and must have the endorsement of his/her bishop. Online applications are required. Deadline for applications is April 5 . Only complete applications will be considered. The application forms can be found here .

SUMMA Student Theological Debate Camp

Camp is the cornerstone of SUMMA Student Theological Debate Society, which provides a way for high school students to build their faith through intellectual channels. Founded in the confidence that knowledge and reason are foundational to faith, SUMMA offers fun, friendship, and the opportunity for a deepened and more thoughtful faith. As a reference, we have created a map on Google Maps listing all worshiping communities in our diocese. They are also color coded according to deanery. If you download the Google Maps app on your phone, you can open the map there in addition to opening it in your browser.
