Absalom Jones Service

On Sunday, February 16, the Feast of the Rev'd Absalom Jones was celebrated at St. Mark's, Wilmington.

Participants in the Celebration included the Celebrant, Bishop Skirving, the Rev'd Skip Walker, Organist, Mr. James Frink, the combined choirs of the Diocesan Historically Black Churches and the St. Andrew's Testimony Dancers. The guest speaker was Dr. Gaddis Faulcon, Interim President at St. Augustine's University in Raleigh.

The Celebration was well attended by over 115 representatives from all across the Diocese. They all received a program with a copy of this letter from the Presiding Bishop Michael Curry encouraging us to consider providing offerings to support the Absalom Jones Fund For Episcopal Black Colleges and Universities.

This year's Acolyte Festival will take place at St. Andrew's by the Sea, Nags Head from April 24-25. All acolytes, directors, youth ministers, and parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
