REAL ID Information at the Northborough Senior Center

REAL ID compliance begins May 3, 2023, which means that a REAL ID compliant driver’s license or identification card, or a valid and unexpired Passport, will be required to fly domestically and to enter secure federal buildings, such as federal court houses and certain Social Security offices.

The RMV’s REAL ID workshop helps people understand what a REAL ID is, identifies who will need to have a REAL ID, provides detailed instruction on how to apply for one, and answers pressing questions like, “Does everyone need to have a REAL ID?”

(Answer: No, not everyone will need or want a REAL ID)

Call the Northborough Senior Center at 508-303-5035 to register.

WORCESTER FELLOWSHIP NEWS
Worcester Fellowship’s Thursday Cafe bagged lunch program is reopening for the upcoming season 09/01/22 thru 05/31/23. Nativity Church’s participation will commence on a monthly basis beginning 10/13, 11/10 and 12/15.
The success of this ministry needs your help and support. Can you provide juice boxes, snack size chips, fruit cups and/or to make it easier you can donate gift cards from Walmart, Market Basket or BJs and submit your receipt to the church (fill out slip that office provides) as an “in kind” donation. Please leave gift cards in an envelope marked Worcester Fellowship with Cherie in church office. There will be 2 bins marked WF donations outside each worship area for your drop-off items which can also include travel size toiletries. The “backpack” collection is still ongoing for anyone wishing to donate (Ocean State $20).
Proverbs 19:17
The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the LORD, and the LORD will repay him for his good deed.

An Opportunity to Serve:

English Practice Groups

English tutoring is a wonderful way to meet refugees and develop relationships in a casual environment. In addition, no English teaching experience is needed - we provide teaching resources and keep track of what each refugee has been practicing each week. If you are interested in serving in this wonderful ministry opportunity, please click the link below.

Curbside Community Meal Donations

Curbside Community Meals through September

Community meals is STILL held on Wednesday evenings. It is still a “Curbside Drive Up” system held in the Trinity Church parking lot. Various commercial organizations are taking turns to prepare the meals being handed out. Please consider signing up on the “Sign Up Genius” link below to donate the items in need to go with the meals. Those are: cases of water and individually wrapped desserts … these can be store bought or homemade. You can also sign up to help distribute the food to the cars lined up in the Trinity parking lot. Trinity Church is not open but someone will be in the parking lot at 5:00 to accept donated items.

The Sign Up Genius link for volunteering is above:

Community Meals Sign-Up through the end of September.

Please free to share with others also!

Update:

As you will read in this Community Advocate News article link below…Community Meals is facing a difficult financial situation. The pandemic has put the organization in this position due to having to purchase all the actual meals being distributed weekly. When we were serving the meal inside the Trinity Church hall prior to the pandemic we served up to 50–60 people. Community Meals now has to purchase up to 130 meals weekly. This has put a big financial burden on the organization. Please consider a donation to the Community Meals organization if you’re able. The article includes where to send donations.

Any amount is welcome!! Thank you so much! Kathy Reilly
