Dear families,

Thanks to the parents who attended the first Coffee Corner this morning. I was so happy for the opportunity to visit with you and hear about your ideas and concerns. We will be having another Coffee Corner for parents and families in October - stay tuned for the date!

Please note that we have no school next Thursday, September 28, as the calendar shows. On this day the ASCA teachers will be gathering with all the teachers of the Archdiocese of Hartford for a professional development workshop. This event takes place annually to bring together all the Catholic school educators for prayer and learning so that we can better serve our students.

Grades 2-8 are in the process of taking their MAP tests. This is an assessment to measure achievement and growth and allows us see areas of strength and weakness thus targeting instruction to ensure growth.

It is great to see the students settled into their new routines and to witness their joy and enthusiasm for learning each day!

Blessings,

Sr. Diane, Principal

Values of the Month

Did you know that ASCA has values of the month? Every month as a school we focus on a value, by learning about what it means and how we can practice it.

Students are encouraged to put the values into practice in their classrooms and throughout the school day. At the end of the month, each teacher selects a student who has demonstrated the values well, and those students become our Students of the Month who are honored at our All-School Mass and receive a certificate.

September's values of the month are COLLABORATION and TEAMPLAY. Have a conversation with your child about these values at home to reinforce what they are learning in school!
