Collaborating for regional growth, Part 1 |
Thanks to everyone who turned out for our full-house forum on Thursday the 27th entitled, "Collaborating for Successful Regional Growth". We had a terrific moderator and a panel of experts who talked us through what it takes to bring public and private sector together for smart regional infrastructure investments.
As Oregon thinks about how to attract and retain advanced manufacturing via potential federal CHIPS Act investments, there is a parallel conversation about what it means to have industrial land ready for investment. Our April forum was intended as a FIRST, not an only, conversation as we work together to find opportunities for collaborative solutions. We left the audience with this question, "What are the programs or policies that will ensure the region has the opportunity for well-thought growth that allows for smart regional investment and that continues to honor the Oregon values of protecting farm and forest?"
We hope you take the time to join us in the coming months as we strive to answer this important question.

2024-2027 MTIP Draft open for comment |
The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program (MTIP) documents how greater Portland communities will invest federal transportation money from 2024 to 2027.
Provide your thoughts on the package of federally funded transportation projects scheduled for 2024 to 2027 in the greater Portland area. Cities, counties and transit agencies across the region have reported how they will invest federal transportation money in the next four years. These planned transportation projects and programs are included in the 2024-27 Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program.
The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program also demonstrates how the list of projects advance regional goals and comply with federal regulations regarding air quality impacts and environmental justice.
Share your comments on the Draft 2024-27 Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program by:
Written or verbal public comment will also be received at the Metro Council meeting on April 20, 2023.
