Scottsdale recognized as a “Top Performer” in Best in Governance Awards

Scottsdale has been named a Top Performer in the 2025 Best in Governance Awards, earning national recognition in the Economy category for its leadership, livability and resident satisfaction.


“Economic success in Scottsdale is built on strong partnerships between our businesses, residents and city leadership,” said Josh Utterback, interim director of Economic Development. “This award affirms that our collective efforts are making a meaningful impact on quality of life and economic opportunity across the community.”


Only five cities nationwide received this honor, based on data from The National Community Survey and Polco’s performance measures.

HonorHealth Thompson Peak celebrates 20 years of care in Scottsdale

HonorHealth’s Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center is marking two decades of service, innovation and investment in Scottsdale. As one of the city’s major employers and health care anchors, the hospital is preparing for its next phase of growth.

Plans include a new patient care wing adding 56 beds, expanded operating rooms and medical office space to meet rising community needs. With these updates, the hospital continues to fuel jobs and investment in the community.

Nomination window for 2026 Sustainable Scottsdale Awards open now

Scottsdale is now accepting nominations for the Sustainable Scottsdale Awards. Don't miss your chance to nominate individuals, groups, businesses, and schools making a positive impact in areas like water conservation, renewable energy, waste reduction, clean air, and environmental education.


This award spotlights the innovative "change makers" that have made a positive environmental impact on our community, motivating and inspiring actions that enhance the quality of life.


Nominations are open to anyone contributing to sustainability in Scottsdale (except city programs) and will close at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Winners will be announced during Earth Week 2026.

Scottsdale named a top workplace in Arizona by Forbes

Scottsdale has once again proven it’s not only a great place to live and do business, it’s also a great place to work. Forbes named the city of Scottsdale the top public employer in Arizona and ranked it No. 8 overall among all employers statewide.

Scottsdale Company Spotlight 

The Walter Hive is a Scottsdale-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing arts programming that teaches useful skills and builds creative confidence— especially for those with limited access to the arts. Through hands-on workshops in woodworking, welding, CAD programming, and photography, participants not only explore creativity but also gain practical job skills, exposure to career pathways, and the confidence to pursue future opportunities. Programs are offered at low or no cost in partnership with schools and nonprofits serving individuals experiencing poverty, housing insecurity, disability, or trauma.


The Walter Hive's recent merger with Kids in Focus, a photography-based youth mentoring organization, has expanded capacity to deliver innovative, high-impact programming that addresses both immediate needs and long-term opportunity for underserved youth.
