Summer 2023 Newsletter

Dear Susan,

From an early age, we naturally begin to crave recognition-- from our families, from our teachers, and from our friends. Our desire for positive affirmation can be so strong we might sometimes interpret a neutral reaction as a negative one.

Understanding that explicit acknowledgement can motivate us to do our best work, the CEEE focuses its late spring and early summer programming on doing just that-- highlighting the impact that exceptional teachers are making on Delaware’s K-12 students. We also reward students who excel in competitions that demonstrate their understanding of how the economic way of thinking can provide the framework for making life choices, and test them on how well they can envision and plan for their financial futures.

We are proud to have recently walked alongside the master of arts in economics and entrepreneurship for educators class of 2023 as they accepted their diplomas this spring. We were equally as excited to welcome behind them a new cohort of 23 educators who began their own study this summer. We shower these and other dedicated teachers and exemplary students with medals, trophies, prizes, scholarships and public recognition, hoping that their example will inspire and encourage others.

Please take a few minutes to read more about these accomplished individuals; sift through our Facebook page to put more proud and smiling faces to their stories. Hundreds of photos and posts illustrate what we've been able to achieve working together over the past academic year.

None of us could realize this important work on our own. We thank you for your interest and your support of our programs, and we look forward to our continued partnership.
