Greetings,
As we move into the new year, I’m thrilled to reflect on the purpose, energy, and connections that define the CEEE. Our mission to support teachers and inspire students through economics and personal finance thinking continues to shine thanks to the dedication of educators, donors, and partners across Delaware. This time of year is always busy and exciting as we plan to engage with experts, celebrate excellence, and share knowledge.
We begin the season with our Economic Forecast on February 19, offering timely insights into national and regional trends and what they mean for the year ahead. We are also looking forward to recognizing outstanding educators and students in 2026:
This past season has been full of excitement and achievement. The fall Stock Market Game engaged 295 teams statewide, strengthening critical thinking, financial literacy, and real-world decision making. We were especially proud of Mary B. Leasure Elementary’s fifth-grade team, who outperformed every other team and even outperformed the S&P 500. Teachers embraced new and returning professional learning opportunities, the Personal Finance Classroom Series and the Personal Finance Challenge to support HB203 requirements, along with teacher-favorite sessions such as Foundations of Financial Literacy: Insurance and Investing and Econ Dinner and a Movie. Our youngest learners were also supported through Economics for Kids: Kindergarten and 1st Grade Economic Model Lessons, offering educators engaging, practical ways to make economics meaningful.
Our work continues beyond professional development. Programs like Running a Family Financial Literacy Night and Bank at School help educators extend learning into the community by bringing families together and building financial skills early. Bank at School launched in 42 schools, helping students open savings accounts and begin setting financial goals.
We are excited to build on this momentum with the spring Stock Market Game, Economics Courses for Teachers, Keys to Financial Success teacher training, Teach Children to Save Day, the Meaningful Economics Competitions, and our annual conference, each designed to strengthen connections, support educators, and deepen economic thinking statewide.
At the CEEE, we are energized by the dedication and creativity of teachers and students alike. Your continued support, whether as an educator, donor, or partner, fuels our ability to connect, inspire, and create lasting impact. Thank you for being part of our community, and I look forward to seeing what this year brings.
