PhD student Doreen Ríos essay In Search of the Cannibal Internet

"In Search of the Cannibal Internet" is a theoretical framework exploring how digital communities reclaim and repurpose commercial technology. It is the title of a digital culture essay by curator Doreen A. Ríos, exploring anti-colonial concepts tied to Oswald de Andrade's 1928 Cannibalist Manifesto. The essay proposes the concept of the "Cannibal Internet" as a method of digital resistance against Big Tech. Rather than being a sinister hidden website or dark web phenomenon, it refers to decentralized, community-run networks.
