Just some of what Councilwoman Narcisse

was up to last week

Marched to Demand Change in Haiti

Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse participated in the “Relief for Haiti" march and rally in Brooklyn. Over 200,000 participants in the U.S., Haiti, Canada, and France gathered on July 9 in various locations across the globe to bring awareness to the mounting insecurity in Haiti.

"We are committed to changing Haiti. I was proud to stand with hundreds of my fellow Haitian-Americans to reaffirm our commitment to seeing change in our beloved birthplace," said Councilwoman Narcisse. "Haiti has so much to offer the world and needs support, but also needs those without the best interest of the nation to stay away."

Visited Resurrection Church Following Statue Vandalization

On Saturday, a mentally ill man was arrested following his vandalizing of a statue of the Virgin Mary at Resurrection Church in Gerritsen Beach. Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse visited the church on Sunday to lend her support.

"I am sure Father Doyle and Father Mike will lead Resurrection through this tough time. I was very pleased that the clergy would like to partner to bring access to mental healthcare to the parish. I look forward to working with them on that initiative and pray that an incident like the one on Saturday never again occurs," said Councilwoman Narcisse. "Allow me to offer my gratitude to Robert Coffey, restoration specialist, for volunteering his time to repair the statue."

Hosted Movie Night

in Marine Park

The District 46 Movies in the Park series finished up in Marine Park on Saturday.

"I was thrilled to see so many families having a great time at our movie in Marine Park," said Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse. "Marine Park is a jewel of our district and I will continue to fight for funding to maintain it and organize fun events to host there."
