9/11 Prayer Service

Students, teachers, and staff grouped around flags at DePaul, Calvary Church, Sacred Heart, and the former McCabe Funeral Home to sing God Bless America and pray for all of those impacted by the terrorist attacks of 9/11.

Christian Leadership Team Elections

Students running for homeroom representatives for the Christian Leadership Team gave speeches last week before middle school elections (grades 6-8). Congratulations to ALL students for their courage and efforts in running for our school leadership team. While only 2 representatives are elected for each homeroom, each and every student that participated are excellent role models for leadership in our school.

Welcome Miss Maria!

Join us in welcoming Miss Maria to our Sacred Heart family. Miss Maria will be teaching our youngest students Spanish this year. She will be here with us on Mondays and Fridays.

Dismissal Plan

In the past we have sent a school-wide dismissal plan form. This year, teachers have gathered dismissal plans for students in their individual homerooms/classes. If you have a change in your child’s dismissal, please inform the school office at dismissal@sacredheartpgh.org or send a note into school. Teachers are not always able to check their school email throughout the school day. You can also use the dismissal change form found on the school website:

Flexible Instruction Day — Wednesday, November 6th

Please note a change in our school calendar. Wednesday, November 6th will be a Flexible Instruction Day (FID) and a teacher inservice. This is to make up our safety teacher inservice that had been canceled in August. Teachers will send classwork home with students and will not be available that day for questions, as they will be occupied in meetings.

All students are eligible and welcome to play regardless of skill level or experience.

Varsity and JV tryouts will be held the second week of October and practices will begin in mid October. Jumpstart practices will begin in the first week of November.

Developmental basketball sessions will take place on Saturdays

and run for 6 weeks beginning in February.

JV and Varsity basketball registration will close October 6th.

New Youth Ministry Program!

Join the first St. Jude Middle School Youth Ministry Program — Set on Fire — on September 21^st in the Sacred Heart auditorium. Expect dinner, snacks, games, and an encounter with Jesus Christ. 6-8^th grade; All are welcome!
