Big 12 Media Days - Kid Reporter Program

Last month, our students returned to AT&T Stadium in Arlington to participate in the Big 12 Conference’s annual media days. The students became “kid reporters” for the day, interviewing players, coaches, and personnel from various Big 12 universities and affiliates. Our kids did an amazing job! Please send an email if you are interested in helping with this effort as a substitute driver. Pick-ups are in the mornings.

Gwen’s Garden
We would love YOUR help in Gwen's Garden! We need volunteers to assist with our community garden on the first Saturday of the month. The task of keeping the garden in constant motion requires several hours of labor. In addition to planting and harvesting, the garden must be routinely maintained, and that is where you can help. Volunteers are needed to weed, plant, harvest, and perform any other duties which lend themselves to the upkeep and general beautification of the garden.

Dina Dixon has been volunteering in the pantry since the very beginning, and she continues to support the pantry with her weekly service and the coordination of donations from her Liverpool Supporters Club. Recently, Dina also raised funds to purchase sturdy retractable wagon carts for our neighbors who visit our pantry on foot. Thank you, Dina, for all that you continue to do for Aunt Bette’s Community Pantry!

Big Thanks to Empire Roofing!
Empire Roofing has recently donated their time and materials to install new roofs and complete roof repairs for three former liquor stores on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. that St. Philip’s is in the process of renovating for new uses. Empire also spent a day repairing roofs on the main campus. We are incredibly thankful to Matt Kelley and Empire Roofing for their continued generosity and investment in our community. Tyler Lea and his teams worked extremely hard to complete these projects in this intense Texas heat. Empire Roofing is making an important impact in our community development efforts to revitalize the MLK Corridor.
