JULY 2019 NEWS & UPDATES | STPHILIPS1600.ORG
SCHOOL IS OUT, NOW WHAT?
“With your support, this summer the children from South Dallas and beyond will be assured an opportunity for something to do and something to eat.”
– Dr. Terry J. Flowers

Our most vulnerable neighbors depend on St. Philip’s School & Community Center during the critical summer months to keep their children safe, engaged, and their cupboards full. There is $150,000 left to be raised by June 30 to ensure the highest quality of vital services to 800+ southern sector households this summer. Please join us in transforming lives and our city through FAITH, EDUCATION, and SERVICE by making a donation today at www.stphilips1600.org/donate.
ALUMNI & FAMILY WEEKEND WAS A SUCCESS!
Our inaugural Alumni & Family Weekend was a BIG success thanks to you! Thank you to all of our alumni, parents and family who joined us this weekend to fellowship, reminisce, and have a good time. Chapel and kickball were definite highlights from Saturday.

Much love and appreciation go to our Alumni Committee for their assistance and input in helping plan this wonderful weekend of events.

(And yes, that is Dr. Flowers photo-bombing!) You can see more photos of the weekend here.
IT'S TIME FOR FOOTBALL & CHEER/DANCE!
Last season, our Saints Jr. Pee Wee team traveled to the Worldwide Disney Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida for the Pop Warner Super Bowl and our Cheer/Dance team did an AMAZING job at the Southwest Regional Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Competition in McAllen, bringing home the 2nd place trophy! Great things are in store this season – find out more and join the football or cheer team here.

Football and Cheer/Dance registration is open through August 10 for everyone in the community ages 4-12.
SUMMER AT ST. PHILIP'S!
Our Summer at St. Philip’s campers are enjoying a week of different activities including agriculture, arts, cooking, and gardening. Check out a few photos of them learning yoga and working on creative arts projects! A huge thank you to the State Fair of Texas and their Summer Sampler program. You can still sign up for any or all of the last three weeks of Summer at St. Philip's here.

Week 4: July 8-12 Get Fit: This week focuses on wellness - from healthy meals to exercise.
Week 5: July 15-19 FUNgineer: Explore and engage in science with a full week of STEAM projects.
Week 6: July 22-26 Adventure Land: Pack your bags for an international adventure! This week is unlimited in the places we will go.
CONGRATS, GRADS!
Congratulations to the Class of 2019! Great things lie ahead!
Look at me. I am more than what you see.
Destiny is mine! If it is to be, it's up to me.
