Honoring our Scholars for a Phenomenal School Year
As the academic year drew to a close, our students were recognized for their exceptional achievements and remarkable talents. The last week of school was a time of celebration, as educators, parents, and peers came together to honor the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of the year. Students in each grade level were presented with awards of recognition from their core and specialty classes, earning titles like “The Outlier” for being unique and thinking outside the box in Math! From academic accolades to artistic achievements, this was a reminder of the incredible potential and promise that lies within our young minds.
Middle School Prep students were commemorated at the Inaugural Blazer Ceremony, a special recognition of the next step in their educational journey – transferring to Middle School. This event was a symbolic gesture to welcome them into Middle School, the next phase of their academic lives which included a homily and words of affirmation from our middle schoolers. This ceremony provided our MSP students with a sense of pride, accomplishment, and anticipation for the opportunities that await them next school year.

Academic Excursions
Last month, our students embarked on adventures that aimed not only to educate but also to instill empathy, courage and social consciousness within them.
| |
| | The 5th graders traveled to Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee on a multi-day tour, visiting significant locations deeply intertwined with the Civil Rights Movement. They had the privilege of walking in the footsteps of heroes and heroines who fought for equality, justice, and human rights. The group explored iconic sites such as the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee, where they learned about the struggle for civil rights and the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. They also had the opportunity to visit important landmarks, including the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, a symbol of courage and the historic march for voting rights. These immersive experiences deepened their understanding of the challenges faced by marginalized communities and highlighted the resilience and determination of those who fought for justice. Through guided discussions and open dialogue, students explored the relevance of the civil rights movement today. They were encouraged to examine their own roles as agents of change and consider how they can contribute to fostering a more inclusive and equitable future.

The Grand Canyon, and other parts of Arizona, became a classroom for our 6th graders. Guided by knowledgeable park rangers, the students explored the layers of sedimentary rock that reveal millions of years of Earth's history. Through engaging discussions and hands-on activities, they discovered how the forces of nature, such as erosion and uplift, have shaped this natural marvel over time. Beyond academic enrichment, the Grand Canyon excursion provided a unique setting for students to build bonds and foster personal growth. The shared experience of hiking the canyon's trails promoted teamwork, resilience, and friendship. Students overcame physical challenges, discovered their inner strengths, and developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and power of nature. It was a transformative experience for the students, offering them a profound connection with nature and God!

| | Our first class of eager 7th grade students embarked on a remarkable academic excursion to the nation's capital, Washington, D.C. This immersive journey provided the young learners with an extraordinary opportunity to explore the rich history, vibrant culture, and democratic institutions that shape the United States. From iconic landmarks to interactive museums, the students delved into the heart of American history and government, gaining valuable insights and creating lifelong memories. The students had the privilege of visiting iconic sites such as the Lincoln Memorial, the United States Capitol, and the Whitehouse. The excursion provided a unique opportunity for them to engage with the democratic institutions that shape the nation, learn about the judicial system and the inner workings of the executive branch and gain a deeper understanding of the presidency. Through interactive activities and thought-provoking conversations, they developed a deeper appreciation for their rights and responsibilities as citizens. The trip ignited their passion for civic engagement, social justice, and the pursuit of knowledge.
Thank you to our donors, volunteers and chaperones that made each of these experiences so special for our students!
