Blessing Ruthie's on MLK

On May 1st we celebrated the future Ruthie's brick and mortar restaurant on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The ceremony featured a heartfelt speech by Ashlee Kleinert, creator of The Good Foundation and owner of Ruthie's. In her remarks, Ashlee dedicated the building and cafe to God. After a powerful prayer by Kellee Murrell, attendees were offered a unique opportunity: markers were distributed for prayers to be inscribed directly onto the walls of their new space at 1632 MLK.

Additionally, attendees enjoyed fresh and delicious grilled cheese sandwiches from the food truck. We were so excited to see current and past board members of St. Philip's, employees, teachers and students, along with valued community partners and neighboring tenants join in on the celebration. We are grateful that Ashlee and the Ruthie's team chose this space in South Dallas as their new home!

COMMUNITY NEWS

Shining Light Christian Church Renovations

We're delighted to highlight the extraordinary generosity of Kevin Brown of Simply Custom. Serving as the General Contractor for the properties we're renovating at 1632 MLK, Kevin went above and beyond by donating his time and services to enhance the flooring at 3400 Holmes, a cherished church in our community.

His team not only laid tile for the back portion of the church but also meticulously refinished and stained the beautiful hardwood floors in the sanctuary. The profound impact of Kevin's contributions cannot be overstated, as Shining Light Christian Church eagerly anticipates returning to their updated space in May, ready to worship anew amidst the beautiful renovations.
