Destiny is Mine! – the St. Philip’s Creed Book

The St. Philip’s Creed, written by our very own Dr. Terry Flowers, Perot Family Headmaster has been brought to life in an illustrated book for children and youth of all ages!

Written in 1984, the St. Philip’s Creed has inspired hope, faith and invigorated passion in all that have spoken it for many years. Through vibrant illustrations, Destiny is Mine! encourages children to persevere with a message that the sky is the limit if you just put your mind in it.

We hope you will support our ministry and purchase your copy of “Destiny is Mine!” today! All proceeds benefit tuition assistance and our annual fund.

Annual Community Thanksgiving Feast

Join us in volunteering your time and/or donating items to help support our Annual Community Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. We expect to serve 500 people!

This longstanding tradition started in the early eighties with faculty and staff cooking dishes at home and serving a few immediate neighbors and has now grown to serve hundreds annually.

We hope you will consider signing up to volunteer and/or donating items. Donations can be delivered to the front desk. Turkeys and hams can be dropped off November 8th- 18th at Aunt Bette's Community Pantry.

Help us be a blessing to our neighbors as we celebrate the gift of life and abundance. There is so much to be thankful for!

Volunteer Spotlight

North Texas Giving Day Forest District Community Cleanup

On Saturday, October 15 St. Philip’s hosted a Fall Community Cleanup. Over 50 volunteers gathered for praise and worship music, followed by two and half hours of cleanup work in the neighborhood.  Activities ranged from tree/ivy/brush-trimming, trash pickup, weed-eating and mowing. This work improves the appearance of our neighborhood and impacts the safety and visibility of the campus.

Following the cleanup, the volunteers enjoyed fellowship and lunch from Two Podners restaurant.  As always, we are so thankful for Gold Auto Recycling for graciously providing dumpsters for the event and the continued support from our friends at St. Andrew UMC, Men of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Masons Golden Rule Lodge # 669, and many others. Finally, we’d like to extend a special shout-out to the 7th grade class of St. Philip’s who served with boundless enthusiasm.

COMMUNITY NEWS

Lights On Afterschool

Each class engaged in interactive and hands-on activities led by their teachers. The activities showcased creative experiments like sink or swim, homemade thermometers, and walking water rainbows. The students enjoyed experiments that challenged them to use their creativity and critical thinking skills.

At St. Philip’s, engaging and fun academic programming is available after school to SPSCC students and children within our neighboring community. For more information on our After School Enrichment Program visit our website.
