Parent University

Don't miss out on Parent University tonight, October 4, 2022 at 6pm! This free event is open to parents, students and educators. Workshops for students PreK2-7th grade will be provided by the Dallas Fire Department and the Grant Halliburton Foundation. Catch Up and Read will facilitate parent workshops, equipping them with strategies & resources to aid in their child's academic journey. Forest District Fall Community Cleanup

Legal Clinic

The Dallas Volunteer Attorneys Program (DVAP) offers free legal counsel to members of our community. Neighbors can receive FREE legal advice in person at the next clinic on October 18, 2022 on our campus at 5:00p.m. Learn more and apply here.

Fish City Grill Fundraising Event

Save the date to support St. Philip’s as you dine out for lunch or dinner on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Fish City Grill on Preston Road. A portion of all sales for the day will be donated to the edification of our school and community center. Tell a friend how they can make a difference too!

STEM Day

We extend a special thanks to Texas Instruments for sponsoring STEM Day on September 9, 2022. Members of TI provided multiple stations with activities for students 4th-7th grade to explore innovative ideas in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. The robotics station was so popular! Thanks for all you do to support us in developing our students' love of learning

Saints Football Homecoming

Support the Saints football team as they take on the Mustangs Nation, Saturday, October 8, 2022 on our home field. The Homecoming celebrations begin at 10:00a.m. Bring the entire family for a day packed with fun. There will be cheer performances, face painting, bounce houses, food trucks and more!

Aunt Bette's Community Pantry


You can make a difference by volunteering at Aunt Bette’s Community Pantry!


Volunteer slots are available:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays 7:45 am-11:45 am
  • Tuesdays 9:00 am-12:00 pm and 1:00 pm-4:45 pm
  • Thursdays 9:00 am-12:00 pm.

Each morning, volunteers gather surplus meals from Snap Kitchen at Mockingbird and Skillman, then meals are distributed through Aunt Bette’s Community Pantry. This service provides pre-portioned, well-balanced meals to the members of our community. Please send an email if you are interested in helping with this effort, or in another capacity. 

Beautify Gwen’s Garden


We would love YOUR help in Gwen's Garden! We need volunteers to assist with our community garden on the first Saturday of each month. Keeping the garden thriving requires several hours of labor and maintenance. Volunteers are needed to weed, plant, harvest, and perform any other duties which lend themselves to the upkeep and enhancement of the garden. That’s where you come in! Register to volunteer here.

COMMUNITY NEWS

Senior Transportation Program

The Senior Transportation Program is back! Seniors are taken shopping for groceries and other goodies twice a month. The outing lasts about two hours, giving seniors the opportunity for fellowship and taking care of basic needs. This is just another important way we are serving our community. If you or someone you know is interested in participating, please contact Jackie Bradford. 

Register to become an Aunt Bette’s Client

Residents may register to become a client of Aunt Bette’s Food Pantry by stopping in on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm. Clients will be provided with appointments to shop every 2 weeks. Visitors from any zip code or clients without an appointment are welcome to stop by during hours of operation and receive a limited supply of emergency food. Aunt Bette’s Community Pantry serves residents from the 75210 and 75215 zip codes. Contact 214-753-5600 for more information or to schedule an enrollment appointment.
