IOWA Testing Begins Monday

Teachers will be administering the IOWA Standardized Achievement Tests starting this coming week to students in grades 3-8.

The IOWA test will be administered online. Students will use their chromebooks for testing.

  • Tests will be administered in the mornings (except Varsity Black Boys basketball will take Science and Social Studies portion- Tuesday, 4/29 afternoon)
  • There will be no testing on Wednesday, April 30th because of the Musical dress rehearsals
  • Grades 8 will not test on Thursday, May 1st and Grade 5 will not test on Friday, May 2nd because some students are participating in Lit Fest.
  • The final day of testing will be Friday, May 2nd (5th grade- Monday, May 5th)
  • CogATs for grades 3 and 6 will be Monday-Wednesday (5/5-5/7)
  • Makeups will be held until May 13th if needed

A few reminders to help your child:

1. Children are more alert and perform better with a good night's sleep and a good breakfast.

2. If your child uses a water bottle at school, be sure it is filled before leaving home.

3. If your child is absent for some or all of the tests, 'make ups' will be scheduled for reading and math tests only. It may not be possible to 'make up' English, Science, and Social Studies.

4. Please bring your child to school on time. No one can enter the classroom once testing begins.

5. Pray with them to ask the help of the Holy Spirit to do their best work during the testing.
