PERCES Art Show Winners:

Congratulations to our Sacred Heart artists that were awarded at the regional art competition this past weekend.

May God bless our 8th graders who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Thursday. May joy, love & faith be with them today and always.

IOWA Testing- Grades 3-8:

Beginning April 28th

The IOWA tests are administered to grades 3-8 annually to measure the achievement and growth of our students in reading, math, social studies, and science.


Testing will begin the week April 28th and is completed in the mornings throughout the week. A finalized schedule will be completed and shared soon.

Sacred Heart Boy Scouts Receive Award

Sacred Heart Boy Scouts (current students and alumni) received an award at St. Paul's Cathedral this past weekend.


The Ad Altare Dei emblem is for Catholic Boy Scouts who work through steps based on the seven sacraments.


Congratulations to Dominic and our SHES alumni, Tate and David.

Night at the Races

Join us for a Night at the Races to support Sacred Heart Elementary School!


Saturday, May 10, 2025

doors open at 5pm

Butler Street Derby (4203 Butler St., Pittsburgh, 15201)

Place your wagers on a fun night! Join us at the Derby as pre-recorded horse races are narrated by a professional race announcer. Cheer on your favorite horse to win big!


Attendees can bid on races (minimum $2.00 per race), and at the end of the evening the horses are auctioned off to give an extra competitive edge to the experience.


There will be a basket raffle, 50/50, instant bingo, and more!


Attendees must be 21 or older.

$40 per ticket

Includes a buffet dinner and door prize entry.


$20 to sponsor a horse.

If you purchase a horse you get to name it, and if your horse wins its race, there will be a payout of $50.00. Horses sell fast!

You do not need to be in attendance to sponsor a horse.


$100 to sponsor a race

Includes a shout out during the race plus social media recognition. Sponsors will be contacted before the evening for recognition information.

Spring Raffle tickets stubs and payment are due by Monday, April 14th.

The top selling family earns a WEEK of dress down!

Each family must sell 40 tickets toward the Sacred Heart fundraising goal.

Our fall raffle earned $15,000!

Lunch/Recess Duty: April sign ups- almost full!

Thank you to everyone that has helped to support our Parent Volunteer Program for lunch/recess duty. Your help has allowed the lunches to run smoothly and efficiently and helped to keep our students safe and active as they play outside. We have a ton of need for help and volunteers in February and so if you have not yet completed your 6 required days, please sign up today. 


If we do not have enough parents signed up, we cannot send students outside for recess. We want them to get outside as often as possible and so your help is needed.

  • Tuesday, April 15th
  • Tuesday, April 22nd
  • Wednesday, April 23rd
  • Monday, April 28th
  • Tuesday, April 29th


If you have completed your family's six (6) required days, but are available to help more, please sign up. We appreciate all of your support.

Middle School Youth Ministry:

Festival of Praise at Franciscan University

The Middle School Youth Ministry traveled to Franciscan University on Saturday for an evening of praise.The night included adoration, praise and worship music, and a talk. The rainy weather did not dampen their spirits and everyone had a wonderful time.

Join the Youth Ministry this week for the next youth night - 

Saturday, April 12th @7pm in Sacred Heart auditorium.

Dropoff is at the Auditorium and Pickup is from the Blessed Sacrament Chapel

(parents welcome to join us in Blessed Sacrament Chapel for closing)

Sacred Heart Elementary accepts the challenge of the Roman Catholic Church in the Pittsburgh Diocese to educate children preschool through grade eight in a spiritually nurturing and disciplined environment. Our primary purpose is to form students in the likeness of Jesus Christ as evidenced in the values and teachings of the Church.
