Night at the Races

Join us for a Night at the Races to support Sacred Heart Elementary School!

Saturday, May 10, 2025

doors open at 5pm

Butler Street Derby (4203 Butler St., Pittsburgh, 15201)

Place your wagers on a fun night! Join us at the Derby as pre-recorded horse races are narrated by a professional race announcer. Cheer on your favorite horse to win big!

Attendees can bid on races (minimum $2.00 per race), and at the end of the evening the horses are auctioned off to give an extra competitive edge to the experience.

There will be a basket raffle, 50/50, instant bingo, and more!

Attendees must be 21 or older.

$40 per ticket

Includes a buffet dinner and door prize entry.

$20 to sponsor a horse.

If you purchase a horse you get to name it, and if your horse wins its race, there will be a payout of $50.00. Horses sell fast!

You do not need to be in attendance to sponsor a horse.

$100 to sponsor a race

Includes a shout out during the race plus social media recognition. Sponsors will be contacted before the evening for recognition information.

For your family fundraising goal:

Each ticket sold is $10 toward your goal

Each horse sponsored is $15 toward your goal

Each $100 race sponsorship is $100 toward your goal

Spring Raffle Tickets

Spring Raffle tickets stubs and payment are due by Monday, April 14th.

The top selling family earns a WEEK of dress down!

Each family must sell 40 tickets toward the Sacred Heart fundraising goal.

Our fall raffle earned $15,000!

Lunch/Recess Duty: April sign ups- 2 months to go!

Thank you to everyone that has helped to support our Parent Volunteer Program for lunch/recess duty. Your help has allowed the lunches to run smoothly and efficiently and helped to keep our students safe and active as they play outside. We have a ton of need for help and volunteers in February and so if you have not yet completed your 6 required days, please sign up today. 

If we do not have enough parents signed up, we cannot send students outside for recess. We want them to get outside as often as possible and so your help is needed.

If you have completed your family's six (6) required days, but are available to help more, please sign up. We appreciate all of your support.

Parent Lunch/Recess Sign Up

If you are unable to complete your six (6) required days, please send in your check for $120 to the school office ($20 per day you cannot volunteer). Thank you to everyone that has already sent their duty payment.

Nominate a Teacher:

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is celebrating teachers that spread sunshine in their classroom and make an impact in their community! You can nominate a teacher who deserves to be celebrated for the difference they have made.

Up to 20 teachers, schools and nominators will be awarded based on the nominations submitted as Tropical Smoothie Cafe searches for teachers that:

1. Have made a positive impact in their school community
2. Embody joy in all that they do
3. Go above and beyond to inspire others

Sacred Heart Elementary School Mission Statement

Sacred Heart Elementary accepts the challenge of the Roman Catholic Church in the Pittsburgh Diocese to educate children preschool through grade eight in a spiritually nurturing and disciplined environment. Our primary purpose is to form students in the likeness of Jesus Christ as evidenced in the values and teachings of the Church.

The school program is a dynamic blend of traditional curricula and methods in conjunction with contemporary educational theories and practices.
