Veterans Day Service:
The observance of this holiday began shortly after World War I in 1918 as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country's service during World War I.
The day was originally called Armistice Day. In 1954, the name of the holiday changed to "Veterans Day" in order to honor all veterans, living and deceased.
Teaching students the importance of honoring veterans and all service men and women instills in them gratitude, compassion, commitment, honor and courage that are foundations of a Christ-like life.
Thank you to Sr. Lynn, Mrs. Cashdollar, Mrs. Kordesich and all of the teachers and students for making this service an honor for our veterans.

For the safety of the students and staff at Sacred Heart, all visitors, including parents, must enter through the main entrance and check into the office before entering the building.
Since it is the beginning of the 2nd quarter, please allow your children to walk into the building on their own. Parents may escort them to the front door, but please do not enter the building with them.
Visitors should NOT:
- Go to a child’s locker. Any forgotten items should be dropped at the office for delivery. (Gym clothes are not accepted. Children can still participate without gym clothes.)
- Go to a child’s classroom to look in or speak to a teacher. This distracts the class and teacher. Please call or email the school to set up an appointment.
- Exit from the cafeteria using the back stairwell, or proceed into the building after conducting business in the cafeteria (i.e. cafeteria duty, uniform room). Please return to the office and sign out, exiting only at the Main Entrance.
| Extracurricular Activities and Attendance |
As we enter the 2nd quarter of school and more extracurricular activities are starting, such as musical, band, and sports, we wanted to send a reminder regarding attendance and extracurricular activities.
If students plan to participate in after school activities, practices, games, and events, they must be in attendance at school that day. To be considered "Present", you must arrive by 11am and stay for the entirety of the school day.
If your child has an appointment, such as a well checkup or orthodontist, please provide a doctor's excuse for the late arrival or early dismissal. With a doctor's excuse, you can still participate in after school activities.
