Our students will participate in our traditional Veterans Day observance on Monday,
November 11th at 10:00 in the Activities Building.
The observance of this holiday began shortly after World War I in 1918 as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country's service during World War I.
The day was originally called Armistice Day. In 1954, the name of the holiday changed to "Veterans Day" in order to honor all veterans, living and deceased.
Our students are invited to bring a photo of their relatives and family friends to the service. The children will be invited to hold up the photo while the song “Thank You, Soldiers” is sung.
Additionally, you can still put the photos on until Thurs., Nov. 7. The photos will be displayed on the gym TV monitor.
Teaching students the importance of honoring veterans and all service men and women instills in them gratitude, compassion, commitment, honor and courage that are foundations of a Christ-like life.
Join us at the Activities Building on November 11th at 10:00.
*Parking in the Activities Building lot is not permitted.
