SoCalGas Announces Vision to Be Cleanest Natural Gas Utility in North America
SoCalGas announced a bold plan to replace 20 percent of its traditional natural gas supply with renewable natural gas (RNG) by 2030. This recent announcement is part of SoCalGas' vision to be the cleanest natural gas utility in North America, delivering affordable and increasingly renewable energy to its customers. To kickstart the plan, SoCalGas will pursue regulatory authority to implement a broad renewable natural gas procurement program with a goal of replacing five percent of its natural gas supply with RNG by 2022. SoCalGas also recently filed a request with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to allow customers to purchase renewable natural gas for their homes. SoCalGas aims to have CPUC approval of its voluntary program by the end of the year.

Can Time-of-Use Rates Benefit Your Household?
Most of SCE’s residential customers are enrolled in the standard domestic (or “tiered”) rate plan. Yet, other options called Time-of-Use (TOU) rate plans may be a better fit for customers. A TOU rate plan looks not only at how much energy your household uses during the monthly billing cycle, but also what times of the day energy is used.

Celebrate Transit Driver Appreciation Day on March 18th
Transit operators have to keep a schedule, give directions, announce stops, remember stop requests, all while safely maneuvering an extra-large vehicle through unpredictable traffic, adverse weather conditions and some really tight spaces. It’s not an easy job…but it is easy to show your appreciation for the hard-working men and women who keep LA moving. Transit Driver Appreciation Day is taking place this year on Monday, March 18. LA Metro hopes you’ll join the celebration by making an extra effort to thank your operator on that day, or by simply smiling and waving when you board the bus or train.
