A Note from Your Pastors
Dear Everybody,

Since we've NOT pastored people through a pandemic before, we don't have much experience or any answers. But, we're paying attention to science and praying for wisdom. Together we'll take courage, be patient, consider " the least of these," and press onward while loving our neighbors. We invite you to join us.

Your Pastors,
Tim & John
Lent 2020 - God Is Near You Now - Listen!
This Lenten season join your friends at church for a noon service (followed by lunch) or a 6:30 p.m. service (preceded by dinner).  We will listen together during Lent by dwelling in the Word ( Hebrews 12:1-2) and the world sharing our own stories, naming what God is up to in our midst.

Listening to stories about what we long for and what we’ve lost (or are afraid to lose) helps our hearts align with what God cares about most. We're going to reconnect with God’s faithfulness, God’s story, and God’s promises to us as God’s people who lives when we are shaped by God’s presence.
Covid-19 & Worship
The staff at Atonement is working to reduce the spread of the coronavirus at Atonement in a variety of ways:
  • Surfaces are wiped more often
  • Communion preparation is as sterile as possible
  • Your pastors sterilize their hands before communion
  • When sharing the peace at church show your love without touching - Don't shake hands & Don't hug people
  • Note precautions published by the CDC (see left)
  • The staff and council are making plans in the event the we are unable to worship as a community together for a period of time.

Making Sense of the Cross Study Sundays 9:30 a.m.
Making Sense of the Cross is a group study that gives participants the opportunity to listen in on a conversation between two people having an open and candid discussion about the cross. One assumes the role of a coach, who has had the time to study the faith in some depth. The other is curious, knows a little bit about the faith, and brings a lot of questions: So what’s with the cross? What does the cross say about God? What’s the big deal? Did Jesus have to die? Join your friends for this interesting Lenten Study led by the pastors!
2020 Stewardship Emphasis
The stewardship question that Atonement invites you to meditate on this year is: What does stewardship at Atonement allow us to provide for the congregation and the community? Last weekend we heard from Marcia Handahl who shared how our contributions fund a variety of musical enhancements for worship. Consider how your time, treasure, and talent contribute to make this congregation the welcoming and faith nurturing place that it has become. How are you willing to continue sharing your time, treasure and talent?
