The cyclone "Hudhud" pounded Vizag (Visakhapatnam), India with gale winds of almost 200 kmph on Sunday, October 12th. Lack of power, non-availability of drinking water, disrupted communication, broken roads and depleting essential supplies have caused lot of trouble to the people. As we all are aware, VT Seva supported school for the visually challenged "Nethra Vidyalaya" premises also became a victim of the Hudhud cyclone that pounded Visakhapatnam, India on October 12th. VT Seva CEO immediately contributed an amount of ~$17,000 (10 Lakh Indian Rupees) towards Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Relief Fund to aid in cyclone disaster relief. After estimating the damage to Nethra Vidyalaya school premises, VT Seva has pledged to raise $40,000 to reconstruct the damaged rooms. We have thus far raised about $30,000 towards that goal and further seeking your support to fill the gap.

Sincerely,

Share Your Holidays with the Needy:
Food/Book/Toy Drive:

It's that time of the year again, holiday season is a great opportunity for us to team up with local food banks and end the hunger. Hunger is a problem that threatens our future and we can't build a strong future on empty stomachs, let's once again use this holidays season to kick start our VTSeva annual food drive. In some areas food banks might be over whelmed with response and might be in need for books or toys, whatever the cause is, inspire your teams to share their holidays with the local needs. Please consult respective branch directors for their plans.

Boston, MA - October 19th 2014 - The smiles never withered for a moment from the faces of volunteers right from the chop-chop time to the bye-bye time. It was a Fantastic Sunday. We are selfish as we sought happiness in Kindness, but we think this selfishness is just awesome feeling. The volunteers gathered at Nashua Soup kitchen to cook and serve over 150 Vegetarian meals. Clients who came for the service thoroughly enjoyed Vegetable lasagna, lentil soup, garlic bread, cookies, salad, milk, coffee and ice cream. It is fall season here in New England and the weather was bit chilly in the morning. Hot meals were prepared and served with lots of love. The most important ingredient in making of the meal is "LOVE." We would like to thank IANH for giving this opportunity to serve along with them at the soup kitchen. Click here for pictures
