The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama
News Updates | June 29, 2022
Dear Friends:
Politics is one of my least favorite subjects. Maybe that’s because our world seems riveted by the subject, and politics seem to drive some of our most challenging and public “unhappy divisions”. In the past week we’ve seen a dramatic Supreme Court decision, that when viewed through a political lens, will intensify our conflict and division. I can’t help but worry and wonder - what is the best way forward?  Read more.
Thank you for continuing to pray for and support the community of Saint Stephen's.
With God’s help we will begin to move ahead, one day at a time, not sorrowing as those without hope, but in thankful remembrance of God’s great goodness, and in joyful expectation of eternal life with those we love, through Jesus Christ, our Savior.
- Bishop Glenda Curry

Many people have asked about making financial contributions in memory of those who were killed in the tragedy at Saint Stephen's. The Rainey, Yeager, and Pound families all have encouraged people to make memorial gifts to Saint Stephen's in honor of Bart, Sharon, and Jane. You can make a contribution here.

The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama supports all our parishes by providing FREE annual memberships to The Episcopal Network for Stewardship, or TENS.

TENS members are able to view and download complete pledge campaign packages for use in congregational stewardship. The 2022 pledge campaign theme is "More than enough", and has complete resources for a fall campaign for Liturgical Year C, including:

Does your parish need new signage?
For more than a half century, the “Episcopal Church Welcomes You” street sign has been used as a highly visible community invitation to your church. Today’s visitors may search the internet for directions to local churches, but they also recognize a familiar sign when they see it. Learn more.
