We look forward to the remainder of the 2026 season. #RideforChloe | | YOUNG RIDER NEWS & UPDATES | | | | Applications for the 2026 Area 1 EA21 Prep Camp are Open Until July 19 | This is a 2-day, overnight camp designed for members of the Area 1 Young Rider program to provide a pathway to the USEA EA21 Program. To be eligible, riders must have completed 4 MERs at the Novice level or above. Applications close July 19 | | | | Area 1 Youth Council Presents Educational Webinar Series | Join us for an evening of education on July 21 at 6:30pm ET with BI representative, Whitney Fernandes, who will be diving into the roots of equine gastric ulcer syndrome, as well as how to prevent and treat them. We are excited to have Whitney kick off our installment of our free webinar series, open to all YRP members! | | | | Area 1 Youth Council Presents Area 1 Championship Prep Clinic | Save the date for our Area 1 Championship Prep Clinic presented by the Area 1 Youth Council with ECP Coach and Area 1 YRP Selector, Bevin O’Reilly Dugan at Gap Mountain Equestrian Center on August 4th. Format will be small group cross country sessions. This clinic is open to Pony Club members as well as YRP and although a GREAT opportunity to prepare for the Area 1 Championships, it is open to any rider regardless of competition plans. Levels offered will be Starter-Modified. Registration coming soon! | | | | Area 1 Secures Team Bronze and Individual Silver at the 2026 USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships | JUNE 28, 2026 - The Area 1 Young Rider Program recently sent the largest number of horse and rider combinations in recent years to represent Area 1 on the national stage at the 2026 USEF Eventing Young Rider Championships held in conjunction with the Maryland International + Horse Trials June 25-28 in Adamstown, MD. | | | | Catch Up on all things USEA EA21 East I Clinic | The USEA hosted the East I Clinic of the 2026 Emerging Athlete U21 Program on June 16-17 at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA with Bec Braitling. If you missed the action, not to worry as USEA was covering each day full of educational tips and tricks. | | | | USEF Higher Education Scholarships Due July 31 | US Equestrian offers two $2,500 scholarships for High School Seniors preparing to enter a College or University. Scholarship funds are provided to students interested in furthering his or her equestrian knowledge and skills throughout college. | | Congratulations to the May and June recipients of Low Score Recognition Awards, More information about Young Rider Awards can be found here. | | |

| | 2026 YRP VIRTUAL TEAM CHALLENGE | | Our Virtual Team Competition is heating up! This competition runs through the Area 1 2026 season (Riga Meadow CT May 3th – Hitching Post Farm H.T October 24th) for USEA recognized events. Scores accumulate from May 3th – October 27th 2026.
