I’ve been traveling around the state in May for our
ISCPA PROFESSIONAL ISSUES UPDATES. Thank you for making them a great success. Please check out
www.idcpa.org/news for follow-up information on the meetings, including new articles on
Blockchain and the “
Shift Happens” video with stats on generational and technological differences in our world today and in the future. If you didn’t see it, it’s an intriguing six minutes.
I sincerely appreciate meeting everyone at the Updates and continue to be invigorated about our opportunities to work together.
www.IDCPA.orgis the nexus of Society communication. Please check it often. SPOTLIGHT, the center column on the homepage, is everything we need and want you to see immediately. Also, update your communication preferences to make sure you are getting all the emails and materials you need.
THURSDAY CPE – BLIND SPOTS TO BREAKTHROUGHS: The BS (Brain Science) that prevents optimal performance at the individual and organizational levels – The cost has been reduced to only $ 119.18 to celebrate our 1918 birthday. This is a fantastic seminar and worth the extra day in town! This is a valuable “soft-skills” 4-hour seminar that empowers participants to understand better how their brains drive behaviors that act as barriers to their own optimal performance in work and in life. The workshop will involve blind spots specifically around male/female brain styles, cooperation/competition, and brain priming.
THURSDAY MEMBER and FAMILY PICNIC – Join us at 5:30pm at Esther Simplot Park for a complimentary picnic for you and your family. Get to know fellow Society members, board members and AICPA President, Barry Melancon. There’s even going to be a bounce house! Please join us!
FRIDAY ANNUAL MEETING – The Annual Meeting will be an amazing event! Sign up ASAP. Complimentary for members – up to 6.5 CPE credits. The agenda is fantastic: The Future of the Profession, Working with the IRS, Risk Management and Loss Prevention, Survive to Thrive: Rewiring Your Brain for Success Over Stress, Idaho Society of CPAs Annual Meeting and Overview of State Tax Changes Following Tax Reform of 2018.
CPE Packets were sent out. If you didn’t get one, your preferences may be set incorrectly. You can check this information under your profile on our website. If you would like a CPE packet, email Gwynne.
June is Audit Prep Time
We have four great seminars lined up to get you ready. Those in the Treasure Valley, we hope to see you in person. For those outside of the Treasure Valley, all four of these seminars will be offered as webinars for your convenience!
If you’re in the first six years of practice, Leadership 1.0 is for you. Leadership 2.0 is new this year for those who completed 1.0 and want more leadership skills. Details on both conferences will be on our website by the end of next week.
B&I Virtual Breakfasts
ISCPA has great resources for business and industry members and here’s another. Starting in June, once a month, a B&I leader will facilitate a conversation about best practices. The topics will change and if you’re in the Treasure Valley, please attend in person, or attend via the web for members in other areas. It’s a 1.0 hour of complimentary CPE and a great way to meet and share ideas with colleagues throughout the state. Check out the ISCPA Business & Industry page for more information.
I am in Tucson, as I write this, for the AICPA Spring Council meeting and am gathering fantastic information and can’t wait to share with you – our members. Check the newsfeed at the end of the month.
Please reach out and let me know what you need to make your membership more valuable to you. Email me at lauralantz@idcpa.org with your suggestions or ideas.
