StoryWalk Grant Brings Music, Literacy, and Joy to Park School
Now in its second year, the StoryWalk at Park School continues to spark joy and curiosity by combining stories, music, and movement. The currently featured book, My Community/Mi Comunidad, has captivated Pre-K students, especially after an exclusive live performance by its authors and musicians, 123 Andrés.
With engaging classroom activities and a QR code linking to the story’s accompanying song, the StoryWalk offers a fun, hands-on approach to building early literacy skills. A new photo gallery, designed by artist Eliana de Gennaro, will soon showcase student participation and the learning inspired by each story.
One more book launch is planned this school year: Paletero Man, another musically enriched story that helps bring reading to life for young learners.
Ossining MATTERS is proud to support initiatives like the StoryWalk that foster a love of reading and promote literacy development in our youngest students.
A special thank-you to Greta Ringel, longtime Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Park School Early Childhood Center, whose passion and dedication have been instrumental in bringing the StoryWalk to life.
