Login.gov/ID.me Transition for Social Security Accounts

We recently sent an email to ensure you are aware that if you created a my Social Security account more than three years ago, you may receive communication letting you know you will need to transition to a new or existing Login.gov account or use an ID.me account to have continuous access to Social Security Administration services. You can find that email, including instructions on next steps, in its entirety here.

• Oct. 3: Client Appreciation Event @ Rewind Hotel in West Des Moines; 4:30-7:30 p.m. (Heavy appetizers and beverages will be provided.) We will also hold a pumpkin decorating contest as part of this year’s event for those who would like to participate! First, second and third place will receive a prize. Bring your creation with you and judging will take place at 6:30 p.m.

• Oct. 23: “Protect Yourself by Being Cybersmart” workshop, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Syverson Strege office. Virtual option available via Zoom. Lunch will be provided for those attending in person.
• Oct. 24: Southeast Iowa Client Appreciation Event, 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Sonny’s Other Side, West Point, Iowa.
• Nov. 8: “Impactful Giving” workshop, 9-11 a.m. at the Syverson Strege office. Virtual option available via Zoom. Brunch will be provided for those attending in person.
• Dec. 13: It’s a Wrap!, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Syverson Strege office. Free gift-wrapping event for clients. Refreshments will be served.

Holiday Notice

The Syverson Strege office will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 for Labor Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 3. 



Jerin Young Departs Syverson Strege

Jerin Young, former Senior Associate Financial Planner, made a career change in early August to take on the role of stay-at-home mom. We sent an email (and mailed letters to those without email addresses) in July and wanted to share this information here in case you missed it. Her last day with the company was Aug. 2. We are fortunate to have a team of professionals that can help assist clients and we have a plan in place to transition a new Associate Financial Planner to her client accounts. If you worked with Jerin in the past, please reach out to your Financial Planner for anything you need, and we will keep you updated on your new AFP as those decisions are made. 

New Notary in the Office

Shannon Smith, Client Service Associate, is now a notary and can assist with any client document notarization needs. She joins Deb Longseth, Client Service Specialist, and Nicole Tripp, Client Service Associate, with this designation.
