Father's Day at CM

Strong Tower Radio makes a big deal over fathers at camp meeting and we don't apologize for it! Our fathers deserve acknowledgement and encouragement in this hostile world towards the family.

We will celebrate fatherhood both Sabbath June 10th and June 18th. The first Sabbath we will give away Father's Day stickers to both children and their fathers. The second Sabbath, the day before Father's Day, we give away a gift to every father whose children bring them to the Strong Tower Radio exhibit tent booth at the Cedar Lake Camp Meeting.

STR at CM

The Cedar Lake Camp Meeting is the time when Strong Tower Radio (STR) staff and listeners can have one-on-one time. We will be walking the grounds, attending the meetings, and conducting a booth at this convocation.

Behind the scenes, STR records future programs with camp meeting presenters in our remote studio. Each year we have a large booth to meet at, pick-up witnessing tools, and ask questions of our staff.

We conduct seminar during the breakout sessions. These sessions include:

Audio Editing for STR

Partnering for Evangelism, The Church & STR

Improving Your STR Reception

We look forward to seeing you in-person at the Michigan Camp Meeting at Cedar Lake June 9-17.

Fire Fighting in Michigan

Strong Tower Radio preempted the regularly scheduled Garden Guy this week to air a forest fire fighting interview recorded just this morning on-location at the Michigan Department of Resources Fire Fighting Center and the Forest Fire Experiment Center in northern Michigan's Roscommon county. The western Canada's wildfire smoke in our area and the Grayling wilderness fire that potentially threatened Camp Au Sable got many of our listeners' attention. This timely recording will be aired Sunday at 5 p.m., Monday at 10 a.m., and Wednesday at 12:01 a.m.

Father's Day

is Almost Here!

If we ever needed to support families, it is now! We need to applaud fathers AND mothers in their roles as parents.

What we praise and value we get more of!  Let’s praise and acknowledge fathers!!

Here in the Michigan Conference, Father's Day gets eclipsed by camp meeting. We are helping your church remember Father's Day before camp meeting!

To do it right we need to start right now by ordering supplies and showing the two father videos, the one-minute tribute after camp meeting on June 24th.

Strong Tower Radio and Blueprint for Men have produced tools to help churches celebrate Father’s Day with the following (found at StrongTowerRadio.org):

     Show, the one-minute church-friendly (that skips the ads) fathers tribute "Glad Your My Dad" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_v_TOLPyEig and the four-minute "Father Resources" on June 24th https://youtu.be/Dsa189hh_RA?t=2

     Post Father’s Day thoughts on your church’s web and social media sites inviting the public to a Father’s Day ceremony at your church

     Print and distribute (from the template) a fill-in-the-blank Father's Day card as a bulletin insert https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/view.aspx?src=https%3A%2F%2Ffiles.constantcontact.com%2F2c6adb5f601%2F6aa9f458-1d55-4e4c-90a0-dad99f0a047c.docx&wdOrigin=BROWSELINK

     Print and distribute the Strong Tower Radio Father's Day Sticker that’s downloadable from our website. You can order blank stickers from an office supply store or online at SheetLabels.com for about $25. Download the "My kids love me" sticker and the "I love my dad" sticker.

     Order a gift for your church fathers. Benchmark your church's Father's Day gift to the expenditure for your church does for Mother's Day and order some delightful Father's Day gift. Hint: There are awesome value priced

imprintable gifts like keychain LED flashlights, luggage tags, or jackknives from Pen.com or negotiate a special price for car washes from a local car wash place and give the gift certificate template.

The world is quite hard on dads, making some of the best dads feel like they aren't doing a great job. Let's all do our part to encourage dads at our churches.😊

Ways for STR Giving

You can give to Strong Tower Radio in several ways with different effects.

The first is the fastest, most effective donation by giving directly via a mailed check, calling in a donation, or donating on our website at StrongTowerRadio.org. This allows you to designate a station or support the whole radio network through a one-time or recurring donation.

Another way is by giving to the Michigan Radio Ministry fund with a tithe envelope or via your church's Adventist Giving online.

Fatherhood, God Style;

Jesus made a visionary statement to the disciples that, “if you have seen Me, you’ve seen the Father.” (John 14:9) To better understand our heavenly Father, we are hereby invited to study Jesus’ life.

Fatherhood or motherhood may not readily come to mind when we first think of Jesus’ life, yet the examples are many. Jesus sees a multitude and recognizes their need for a true shepherd. He teaches many things and has compassion for them as a loving mother would. (Mark 6:34)

He reveals our heavenly Father’s character through the prodigal son parable. A loving, seeking, longsuffering father rejoices that his wandering child has returned. (Luke 15:11)

And like a mother over-looking Jerusalem, Jesus lamented Israel’s refusal to shelter with Him, as a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings. (Luke 13:34)

Many have a distorted view of our heavenly Father, thinking of Him as stern or vengeful, while they think of Jesus as kind and loving. Yet hear Jesus again telling us like Phillip, ”if you’ve seen Me, you’ve seen the Father.” They are alike in mind, character, and purpose.

Thank you for helping STR proclaim a clear, Biblical picture of our heavenly Father. Through your faithful prayers, encouragement, and financial gifts, God continues to sustain this ministry and bless every listener with the truth as it is in Jesus.

In blessing, you are also blessed, both in this life and the life to come. May you more clearly see the blessings of your heavenly Father.

Kam Ferguson

Development Director
