Who Else Tells
You the Truth?
Luke 4:14-30 records Jesus following a Biblically sound custom of going to church and volunteering to read the Scripture on the seventh day Sabbath.
In Nazareth, His hometown, He stood up and read Isa 61:1-3 (partial), which was nice. He then explained the passage, and His hometown members rejected His identity declaration.
We’re inclined to advise Jesus to stop there, yet He didn’t. Instead, with love, He pointed out their faith problem, illustrated that it was multi-generational, and the church members reacted in a murderous rage.
Who else would have told them the truth? Strong Tower Radio broadcasts the everlasting gospel in the context of the Three Angels Messages 24/7/365 in varying formats to reach a wide range of interested listeners. We broadcast clear, straight truth, that some would advise us to avoid, hoping to prevent certain listeners from taking offense.
In 1 Cor 14:7-8, God calls His people to give the trumpet a specific sound, and that is the full gospel, present truth, not just pleasant truth. We have not heard of classical music bringing a listener to Jesus Christ. The contemporary Christian music format other Christian radio stations use will not prepare people to meet Jesus when He soon returns.
Who else tells you the truth on the radio dial?! Your prayers and gifts keep STR proclaiming the truth of God’s beautiful character every day, and lives are being changed! Just this week, we heard of 50 people who are now in weekly Bible studies with a Seventh-day Adventist pastor because one person heard him on STR when they “happened to pick up the station” while driving across central Michigan!!
Glory to God! As He promised, great is your reward. [Matt 5:12]
