President’s Perspective

Following is a brief update on our new stations.

God continues to guide and provide. The tower we had hoped to build our Bridgman station on failed the Structural Analysis, so we will have to find another tower or negotiate with the tower owner to strengthen their tower.

The South Haven planned tower passed the Structural Analysis, which is the tower we indicated on our application to the FCC.

As I mentioned last month, the tower I had hoped to use for our Greenville station will not cover the communities of Edmore and Ionia as we had desired. I have found another tower which would cost us $2,100 a month but will make a stronger signal in both areas. I have contacted a couple of antenna manufacturers to see if they can build an antenna to cover our desired area. If so, we will start running a Structural Analysis and then submit a request to move to the new tower with the FCC.

Our first choice of antenna manufacturer for our Owosso station stated they needed 40' of space on the tower, but only 25' was available. So, I contacted another manufacturer to see if they could produce an antenna to fit that space. They sent back some plans for an antenna which our engineer says look good. Once we finalize the details, we will have to run a Structural Analysis to ensure the antennas will not overload the tower.

Our engineer is requesting permission from the FCC to move our Port Sanilac station to a different tower. Our antennas on this tower passed the Structural Analysis, so everything looks good for the next step.

The Structural Analysis for our Tower Hill, IL, station failed, so we will need to upgrade the tower or make plans to move to another nearby tower.

I am reaching out to various engineers to see if they would be able to oversee the actual construction of these stations when we get to that point. With 15 stations currently on the air, it is critical that we have ongoing local support for each station so that it is not a financial burden to the other stations.

March Current Events

Strong Tower Radio is already planning for this year's camp meetings! We are planning our exhibit booth (the best place for you to connect with us and find out how people's lives are changing) and contacting the speakers and presenters for interviews. Cedar Lake and Camp Sagola camp meetings are like family reunions to us!!

Our Adventist Services and Industry (ASI) recording studio (at Camp Au Sable) began to realize its potential this winter. We recorded: Pastor Steven Bohr of Secrets Unsealed; Generation. (of) Youth. (for) Christ. (GYC) with Pastor Andrew Parks and founding board member Stacy (Osterman) Shefka; the Nature Guy, Dr. Gordon Atkins; and Streams of Light ministry leaders.

Have you toured the STR Broadcast Center? Hear the miracle story of how God provided almost a quarter million dollars in 90 minutes, on the day of closing, for this building!!! Pastor Steven Bohr of California and Blueprint for Men founder, Marty Miller, have toured recently, and Ron Price ("Relationship CPR") will be touring in September during his speaking engagements in Michigan. Contact me if you are interested in having him speak at your business, church, or school during his visit.

We recorded a resurrection program with Norman and Dorothy Moll recently, and Pastor Jay Gallimore (with Holly Bailey-Wiltzer) is currently recording a Galatians program to follow up his exciting Romans series.

On our flagship interview program, STR Today, we interviewed Gary Heilig, the Garden Guy, the new Family Ministries leader, Amy Hubbard, and more!

STR Feature travels the state seeking events and community organizations that may be of interest to you. This month we air interviews with the Nature Guy, Dr. Gordon Atkins, on duck migration, where migration studies primarily started; the U.S. Forest Service on wildfire control and annual hiring; Habitat for Humanity, and the Wexford County Historical Museum about their virtual tour.

Who Else Tells

You the Truth?

Luke 4:14-30 records Jesus following a Biblically sound custom of going to church and volunteering to read the Scripture on the seventh day Sabbath.

In Nazareth, His hometown, He stood up and read Isa 61:1-3 (partial), which was nice. He then explained the passage, and His hometown members rejected His identity declaration.

We’re inclined to advise Jesus to stop there, yet He didn’t. Instead, with love, He pointed out their faith problem, illustrated that it was multi-generational, and the church members reacted in a murderous rage.

Who else would have told them the truth? Strong Tower Radio broadcasts the everlasting gospel in the context of the Three Angels Messages 24/7/365 in varying formats to reach a wide range of interested listeners. We broadcast clear, straight truth, that some would advise us to avoid, hoping to prevent certain listeners from taking offense.

In 1 Cor 14:7-8, God calls His people to give the trumpet a specific sound, and that is the full gospel, present truth, not just pleasant truth. We have not heard of classical music bringing a listener to Jesus Christ. The contemporary Christian music format other Christian radio stations use will not prepare people to meet Jesus when He soon returns.

Who else tells you the truth on the radio dial?! Your prayers and gifts keep STR proclaiming the truth of God’s beautiful character every day, and lives are being changed! Just this week, we heard of 50 people who are now in weekly Bible studies with a Seventh-day Adventist pastor because one person heard him on STR when they “happened to pick up the station” while driving across central Michigan!!

Glory to God! As He promised, great is your reward. [Matt 5:12]

Development Director
