Family Hannukah program with Author Amalia Hoffman
Join award winning author/illustrator, Amalia Hoffman and her adorable cat puppets in a fun Family Hannukah program featuring her book Dreidel Day. Follow cat and dreidels as they spin, bounce, hop and much more and see how much fun counting could be. Amalia will demonstrate how she created the cut-up paper illustration for the book and children will decorate dreidel designs to take home. For children ages 1-6 and entire families. Space is limited.

Poetry Slam & Open Mic
The library's exciting "1st Wednesday" series continues with Open Mic, SLAM competition and feature performances from guest poets Ryan J and Nate Mask. Nate Mask and Ryan J are nationally touring spoken word artists based in Atlanta and are members of the 2018 National Poetry Slam Group Piece Champion Art Amok Slam Team. Throughout their work, both poets use humor and passion to draw audiences in, while providing insightful and scathing commentary on both social and personal issues. Their work touches on topics ranging from race, politics, relationships, mental health, driving in Atlanta traffic, and more. To take part in the open mic or slam, please register between 6:30 pm and 7 pm. Slam poets should bring at least one original poem of up to 3 minutes. Registration closes promptly at 7 pm, and the program starts shortly thereafter. Co-hosted by local poet and slam-master Eric ZORK Alan.

Free Workshop: Strategies to Accelerate Revenue
The Acceleration Project is offering a workshop in conjunction with the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses (GS 10KSB) program at the White Plains Public Library. This workshop, Strategies to Accelerate Revenue, is free, and provides a taste of the longer GS 10KSB program. Goldman Sachs provides full scholarships to all business owners accepted to the program, which provides education, access to capital, and business support services to small business owners. To date, it has served over 6,700 small business owners across all 50 states, and has contributed to immediate and sustained business growth for the alumni of the program. Learn more and register.

The Erie Canal & the Building Boom
A contemporary art exhibition inspired by the shared story of the Erie Canal and the Hudson Valley brickyards.
