Creative Alliance is one year old!  We hope to see you on June 21st as we celebrate our birthday, detailed below, at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

The Creative Alliance Team

Creative Alliance Birthday Bash
Thursday, June 21st
4:30-7:00 P.M.
Milwaukee Art Museum - 750 Art Museum Drive, Milwaukee, 53202

We are excited to invite you to celebrate our one year anniversary! Featuring local music, food and libations, join us as we introduce our newly expanded board of directors and update Milwaukee's creative community on Creative Alliance's achievements, current projects and an exciting announcement. You'll also hear from Christine Harris regarding the recently released Creative Collaborative Spaces report and have an opportunity to meet Lindsey Bovinet, chairman of the board of Interior Systems, Inc. and visionary behind the Eisner Advertising Museum rebirth. As always, this won't be your typical stand around event - engagement is key and you'll be tapped for feedback and ideas pertaining to the potential "Creative Hub" at the Eisner Museum. This collaborative, cooperative effort, featuring a multidisciplinary cross-section of Milwaukee's creatives, will give you the opportunity to offer your ideas to Creative Alliance leaders as they move forward with the planning of the future space.

Look for more details and registration on our website next week!

COMMON Pitch

Creative Alliance Milwaukee is happy to promote a huge event Thursday night at Turner Hall to celebrate American innovation and entrepreneurship! The event is called COMMON Pitch and it's the headliner event for Milwaukee's first ever Innovation Week.

10 amazing startups from around the world (and a few local) will descend upon Milwaukee to pitch the next big idea. The winner walks away with $30K in cash and prizes.

This is not just a startup pitch. It's a party. COMMON Pitch will feature 14 artists, 3 bands and a collection of Milwaukee's innovation culture---which includes YOU!

This is truly a unique opportunity for Milwaukee as COMMON Pitch has previously only been held in Colorado, New York and South America. COMMON selected Milwaukee as the 4th city because of the momentum they've seen here.

Please join us in support of innovation and all the great things startups can do to energize Milwaukee. We'll welcome the next generation of ideas, entrepreneurs, and big things to our great city.

Mount Mary College is embarking on an exciting new era of campus activity, which includes a flagship new Art and Design building. They are seeking input from the creative community as they move forward with the project. Having determined that a key component of the new Art and Design building will be integrating a creative community engagement program, they have contracted with Christine Harris Connections to develop a conceptual scope for the space and programming that will support a strong, synergistic creative community interface. The project is designed to:

  • understand Mount Mary College's current community engagement activities and mission fit
  • understand the needs and desires of the Art and Design faculty for continuing and future creative community engagement
  • explore what Milwaukee's creative community might need and desire for engagement with this newly designed and developed creative space

The end goal is to outline potential physical space parameters for creative community engagement in the new building, users of that space, how the space integrates with the full Art and Design functionality and programming, and what kind of community programming will be explored from both an internal perspective and an external, creative community perspective.

You are invited to attend ONE of these creative community Town Hall sessions to hear about the College's exciting new plans, to express your needs, and to explore potential relationship opportunities.

To RSVP for one of these sessions, please email Elisabeth Ruidl

If you have specific questions about the research itself, please contact Christine Harris.
