Join Us Sept. 12th for Art at the Center

Wednesday, Sept. 12th, 2012

Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, Bradley Pavilion

Join us in honoring the creative practices and authentic contributions of Milwaukee's contemporary artists. Featuring performances by the Center Street Artists and the Florentine Opera and visual art by Reginald Baylor, Melissa Dorn Richards, John Riepenhoff, Ashley Janke and others. Also featuring auction items from area art organizations and local food and drink.

We're exploring relationships and strengthening and expanding Milwaukee's art community. Come and be part of the dialogue!

The tragic fire at 631 E. Center St. was a catalyst for diverse segments of the Milwaukee Arts community to come together in support of the Center St. Artists. Art at the Center is an opportunity to further support to these artists and continue the momentum toward a more unified Milwaukee Arts community.

CAMPAC Applications Due Monday, Contact Your County Supervisor to Support Milwaukee Arts Funding

Don't forget! The deadline for applications is approaching soon for the 2013 Milwaukee County Cultural Artistic & Musical Advisory Council (CAMPAC). All applications must be submitted by Monday, September 17, 2012. The form is currently available on the Milwaukee County web page. Click here for more details, the full application, and application guidelines.

As you may know, maintaining CAMPAC's funding in the County Budget has been a challenge in recent years. We strongly encourage you to contact your County Supervisors and the County Executive (via telephone, email and/or written correspondence) and make the case for continuing the CAMPAC funding at its current level. Please reach out to your supervisor and share with them the impact of CAMPAC funding on your organization. Click here for County Supervisor contact information.

Creative Alliance's advice to nonprofit arts groups is to contact the County Supervisor who is most closely linked to their mission and program delivery and make a very individual, data-driven case for support.
The more personal, the better. For its part, Creative Alliance will work diligently to develop programs and resources that will help non-profits and creatives develop earned income revenue so that there is less dependence on contributed income.

If you have any additional questions about CAMPAC funding or the application cycle, feel free to email Rick Clark, CAMPAC Administrator.
