Updates from our City Council Representative

  • Happy to share that the second week of February our office held the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for our newest tiny home village in the Boyle Heights area. That will serve Boyle Heights and Lincoln Heights.
  • There has been a troubling rise of Copper Wire Theft - CM de Leon introduced a motion at the end of January to initiate a city wide task force to crack down on the alarming influx of copper wire theft in the City. Including the implementation of a monetary reward program to solicit information from residents that can lead to arrest and tackle the issue. As soon as lights are repaired they come out and steal the copper wire. CM de Leon also committed a total of 400k in funds specifically for this task force.  Please report light outages to our office.
  • Last week we had a successful coffee with a cop at the Senior Center parking lot with Officer Vargas and Officer Chang and Officer Henderson. Looking forward to hosting more of these to provide a space where community members can frequently share public safety concerns.
