New Master Gardener Class About to Begin
The UC Master Gardener Program of Ventura County is preparing to welcome 35 new Master Gardener trainees in November 2021. For six months, trainees will attend weekly classes led by University of California professors, UC Cooperative Extension Advisors, horticulture professionals, and Certified Master Gardeners. Training class topics include botany, soils and fertilizer, entomology, plant pathology, and more. After graduating in May 2022, the trainees will join a cadre of nearly 200 Ventura County Master Gardener volunteers, and over 6,200 volunteers statewide, that provides the public with information on home horticulture, pest management, and sustainable landscape practices. Visit the Master Gardeners website to learn more about the program or see a list of upcoming events. 
Diagnosing Herbicide Injury Course
A brand-new online course on Diagnosing Herbicide Injury focusing on how an herbicide injury situation can arise, what information can help diagnose symptoms during field investigations, and what tools are available to you, is now available from the UC Statewide Integrated Pest Management program (UC IPM).

The course content is free to anyone who wishes to view it. For those requiring a certificate of completion and continuing education units (CEUs), the regular cost is $30, but we are offering a reduced price of $15 through October 31, 2021. Read more on our blog
