Digital Health a Focus Area of MassTech Intern Stipend Program

If you are hiring interns this summer you will want to take advantage of the MassTech Intern Partnership. Massachusetts companies can be reimbursed for up to 50% of an intern's hourly wage up to $8 per hour for a total of $3,200/year per individual intern . Digital Health companies may apply for up to 3 interns in 2020. All interns must be paid as employees, not contractors, with required payroll withholdings.  Read more.
Iora Health raises $126M in series F funding round
Boston-based Iora Health, a startup focused on the operation of primary care clinics, just completed a $126 million round of series F funding. To date, the company has raised over $346 million. In 2018 the company raised $100 million in a series E round. The company has doubled the number of primary care clinics it operates from 24 in 2018 to 48 today. Read more.
Health Data Analytics Institute raises $16 million for AI platform
The Dedham-based Health Data Analytics Institute raised $16 million for an AI platform that predicts a range of clinical and financial outcomes, from in-hospital complications and mortality risk to total cost of care and risks of developing chronic conditions. The model has been trained on data from over 100 million people in the U.S. and over 20 years of follow-up records. HDAI employs 25 people. Read more .

Price is Your Right Challenge Winners
In the final round of the Price Is Your Right Design Challenge, six finalists submitted video pitches to more deeply explain their designs for platforms that better present healthcare cost data to help patients make decisions on where to get their care . The Professional Grand Prize Winner, HSRI Data Miners, and the Student Grand Prize Winner, HealthyCent$, are both Massachusetts based teams and each received a $2,000 prize.  Read More and see their video pitches .
