Partners HealthCare Plans to Spend $6.1 Billion on Five Year Expansion Plan
Partners HealthCare announced a plan in January to spend $6.1 billion over the next five years on capital projects and expansion across New England. The announcement includes a $100 million investment in their digital health initiative to fuel innovation and transform the patient experience. Read more.
Applications for the MIT Hacking Medicine Grand Hack Are Open
MIT Hacking Medicine is back. Last year 400+ innovators gathered in the MIT Media Lab to create disruptive healthcare solutions. If you are interested, applications to participate or mentor are now open and will be accepted on a rolling basis until April 8th. Read more about how to apply.
Applications for MassVentures START Funding Now Available
Every year, the MassVentures START program awards 17 grants worth $100,000 or more to assist Massachusetts-based companies in commercializing technologies under SBIR and STTR contracts. Mass Digital Health Roundup
  • End-of-life planning platform Cake announced it raised $1.7 million in its latest round of funding. GoAhead Ventures, OCA Ventures and Pillar VC led the investing for this round. Cake also announced Takeshi “TK” Mori, a managing partner at GoAhead Ventures, is joining their board.

  • Evive, a Chicago company that operates a platform for connecting people to their employer benefits, has acquired Boston-based WiserTogether. Founded in 2008, WiserTogether makes a tool that helps people understand their health care options. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. 

  • Imprivata, a Lexington-based digital health cybersecurity company, acquired GroundControl Solutions, Inc., a leader in cloud-based automation software for provisioning shared mobile devices. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
