Rapid Growth Of Eggs Up Grill® Franchises Prompts Sale Of Eggs Up Grill In Pawleys Island, S.C.

Egg Ventures Founder And Eggs Up Grill Owner, Chris Skodras, Will Concentrate On Franchise Growth, Working Alongside Newly-Named CEO Skip Corn
December 15, 2015, Pawleys Island, S.C. - Chris P. Skodras, founder of Egg Ventures, Inc., headquartered in Pawleys Island, S.C., has sold his Eggs Up Grill® in Pawleys Island so that he can concentrate on managing his growing Eggs Up Grill franchise business. He has also named Wade A. (Skip) Corn, Jr. chief executive officer of Egg Ventures. The corporation currently has 13 Eggs Up Grill locations open in South Carolina and Georgia, and six more restaurants have been announced, including the first location in North Carolina. With the sale of the Pawleys Island restaurant, all locations are now owned and operated by franchisees.

"My wife, Pat, and I have enjoyed running our Pawleys Island restaurant, and selling it is certainly bittersweet," said Skodras. "Its sale, however, is being prompted by the dramatic growth in our Eggs Up Grill franchises. Two years ago, we had seven restaurants. Today, we have 13 open, and six more have been announced. We're expecting to open a good number more in 2016. The sale of the Pawleys Island restaurant will enable me to concentrate all of my time and energy working with Skip to grow the number of franchises and to help our existing franchisees to continue to grow."

The Eggs Up Grill in Pawleys Island is a popular restaurant for both tourists and locals. It has been purchased by an existing Eggs Up Grill owner who has extensive experience as a franchise owner with the largest fast food franchise in the world.

In conjunction with his transition, Skodras named Wade A. (Skip) Corn, Jr. chief executive officer of Egg Ventures, Inc. Corn has been with the company since 2012 and has been instrumental in developing and executing the successful franchise growth strategy for Eggs Up Grill. Before being named CEO, Corn served as Egg Ventures' director of franchise development. Corn brings more than 10 years of food service management experience to Egg Ventures, including seven years with Hardee's.

"The Eggs Up Grill franchise model is unique," said Corn. "It allows owner-operators to run a successful business and still have time to enjoy life. Because Eggs Up Grills are only open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., our restaurant model lets owner-operators have more time with family and friends. There's a low start up investment and the consistent menu allows them to  a ccurately predict their costs and easily train employees. It's a win-win for anyone who wants to own a business, but also wants to have a life."
