Report Illegal Use of Fireworks
ALL FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL in the City of Los Angeles. As much as LAPD tries to address the issue every year, the City of LA remains on tactical alert, so LAPD resources are stretched thin and they have to prioritize calls for service.

If you have an actual address to where the fireworks are coming from, or the identity of people selling them, please forward it to your LAPD Senior Lead Officer so they can do a follow-up at the residence. If you have a description of the individual(s) responsible, that’s even better, but not necessary.

You can also call the non-emergency number 877-ASK-LAPD (877-275-5273) for fireworks.
Contact Tracing Scam (Covid-19)

This morning I issued a consumer alert concerning an emerging scam connected to COVID-19 contact tracing.

While thousands of Californians are working legitimately as contact tracers to stop the spread of the virus, scammers are  faking  it – trying to steal money and personal information under the guise of wanting to help. Since the beginning of the outbreak in March, my Office has been a national leader on numerous issues tied to  COVID-19 , including price gouging and false advertising of unauthorized tests and unproven cures.

Ports to Host CAAP Update Meeting June 24
Second Advisory Meeting of 2020 to be Held Online
The ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles will update the public on progress toward the goals of the San Pedro Bay Ports Clean Air Action Plan during a Wednesday, June 24, meeting.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting will be held via WebEx, from 10 a.m. to noon. To participate in the meeting,       click here to register       and you will receive instructions on participating via computer or phone.
Regular advisory meetings were called for as part of the CAAP Update approved by the Long Beach and Los Angeles boards of Harbor Commissioners in November 2017.       Records of prior meetings can be found here.

Crafted Re-Opens
CRAFTED will reopen to the public on Saturday, June 13th. For the time being they are going to limit open hours to 12:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays only. They will reevaluate throughout the month and adjust as necessary. They are limiting the hours to minimize health risks.
Customers will only be allowed to enter through the picnic area door, where a greeter will do a mask check and offer hand sanitizer. The other doors will be open, but blocked by a chain and a sign asking people to use the front entrance.
Customers who are non-compliant about the masks/sanitizer/social distance will be asked to wait outside while a ambassador gathers their items (assuming they know what they want) or to wear a mask provided. Shopping by appointment during the week will remain available as will curbside pickup.

CRAFTED is located at:
112 E 22nd St, San Pedro, CA 90731

Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count Results
The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority released the results of last winter’s annual Point-in-Time Homeless Count, and — disappointedly and unsurprisingly -- showed continued growth in homelessness both citywide and countywide. You can see LAHSA's media release at  https://www.lahsa.org/news?article=726-2020-greater-los-angeles-homeless-count-results. The Mayor also addresses the homeless count in his briefing below.

On-Line Complaint Form

To file a complaint of police misconduct click below for the form or call their 24 hour toll free hotline at (800) 339-6868.

This form is only used for complaints of misconduct involving Los Angeles Police Department employees. The Los Angeles Police Department does not investigate employees of other Los Angeles (LA) City departments, such as the Department of Water and Power or the Bureau of Sanitation, nor does it investigate LA County agencies, such as the LA County Sheriff’s Department. If you need to reach another LA City department, call 3-1-1 for assistance or find additional information online.
