City of Redmond Issues Moratorium on Late Fees and Additional Actions

Redmond Mayor Angela Birney signed an  Emergency Proclamation  on April 7 which includes a moratorium on late fees due to the delinquent payment of rent by any member of the Redmond community from April 7 – May 7.

A landlord owning property in the City cannot charge a late fee, penalty, interest or other charges for late payment of rent from a residential tenant, mobile home park tenant, or not-residential tenant, including commercial and non-profit tenants.

All late fees and charges shall be waived during this time period.

OneRedmond Hosts Webinars on PPP and Gig/Independent Contractor Resources
I n the past two weeks, OneRedmond has hosted two webinars with CARES Act experts. Last week's webinar, "Helping Companies Navigate the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)" is available to view online. In addition, slides from the presentation are available as well as a set of resource links and FAQs.

SBA Loans, including EIDL and PPP, have now closed to applications at this time. The Federal Government is working toward a second round of funding. To prepare for a potential second round, please continue to review our resources above.
GRTMA Virtual Annual Meeting with Mayor Birney on April 21, 11:30 AM
T he Greater Redmond Transportation Management Association is the advocate for better biking walking and transit in Redmond. Our member organizations represent over 100,000 people who come to Redmond every day.
 
At our virtual annual meeting on April 21 at 11:30, GRTMA members and the public will hear more about our advocacy agenda for 2020, how our members are responding to the moment , and join a conversation with the Mayor on the City's transportation priorities.

Go Redmond Teleworking Grant
The City of Redmond & Greater Redmond Transportation Management Association have identified a need for Redmond businesses to have access to video conference services to support teleworking. Go Redmond grants are available to assist businesses obtain a year subscription to a video conferencing service.

Puget Sound Energy Response to COVID-19 (CACAP)
Puget Sound Energy is addressing the impacts of the COVID-19 on its customers in a number of ways. These steps include:

  • PSE will not be disconnecting customers during this time.
  • PSE received approval from the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission for a waiver that allows PSE to waive late fees.
  • PSE will work with our customers on options such as payment plans and choosing a new bill due date.
  • PSE launched a new energy assistance portal to improve access to funds available to low income customers.
  • In order to help our community partners, the PSE Foundation, which is a nonprofit entity operating independently of PSE but helps the communities PSE serves, is donating $250,000 to support relief efforts in the community through the Seattle Foundation as well as donating to foodbanks to cover emergency preparations.
 
Sound Publishing $ Match for Digital Marketing Purchases
Although the Redmond Reporter print edition of the newspaper is temporarily suspended due to Covid-19, site traffic to the online newspaper has tripled in recent weeks and continues to increase. OneRedmond members can get a match for every dollar spent digitally.

The Herbfarm Partnership with the OneRedmond Foundation
