Greetings!
We want to congratulate our member, Present Music, for selling out their show "WATER" this Saturday. Present Music would like to extend a special invite to join them for the after party along the river, starting at 9:30pm. More info below!
We also want to welcome our newest member, In Tandem Theatre. Jane and Chris Flieller have been long-time supporters of the Alliance and of the creative community in Milwaukee. If you haven't been to one of In Tandem's entertaining (and affordable!) shows, check out their upcoming show "Mrs. Mannerly" inspired by hilarious memories of a childhood etiquette class.
Cheers!

Member Spotlight: In Tandem Theatre
In Tandem Theatre was established in 1998 by co-founders Chris and Jane Flieller. The Flieller's felt that the Milwaukee theatre scene was missing a small, affordable but professional company that produced a variety of plays and musicals under one roof. The "one roof" turned out to be somewhat elusive as the company bounced around from venue to venue for its first nine years, renting space where ever it could.
In 2007, In Tandem found its permanent home: the lower level of Calvary Church at the corner of 10th and Wisconsin in downtown Milwaukee (across the street from the Wisconsin Club and on the far east end of Marquette University's campus). The church had unused space and a need to supplement their revenue, so In Tandem moved in, creating a cozy 99-seat studio theatre.

From: Live Science
"It sounds like the complaint of a jaded adult: Kids these days are narrow-minded and just not as creative as they used to be. But researchers say they are finding exactly that. In a 2010 study of about 300,000 creativity tests going back to the 1970s, Kyung Hee Kim, a creativity researcher at the College of William and Mary, found creativity has decreased among American children in recent years. Since 1990, children have become less able to produce unique and unusual ideas. They are also less humorous, less imaginative andless able to elaborate on ideas, Kim said. Has modern society really extinguished the creative spark among our youth?"
