We are now into the winter months. Be sure your kids are well layered for the change in weather. It is also cold and flu season so make sure they also get plenty of rest each night.

We wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy holiday season.

The Importance of Reading and the Winter Reading Challenge at the Southeast Branch Columbus Metropolitan Library Homework Help Center

The amount of time a student spends reading has a direct correlation with their performance on standardized assessments.

Take time to read at home or take part in the Winter Reading Challenge (WRC). Students who sign into the Homework Help Center can also sign up for the WRC that will run Dec 3rd through Feb 28th. The intent is to keep students reading in the winter and further develop connections to and attendance in the Homework Help Centers. Students will receive a mechanical pencil and bookmark at sign up and can win a new book after they read 6 hours. Students will track the time they spend reading in the Homework Help Center. They can also win a pair of earbuds.
