AIR Testing

This week, students in 3rd grade will be taking the State AIR Assessments. It is very important for your child to do their best on these tests. The data from these assessments are used to identify students’ strengths, areas to improve on, and allow us to determine each student’s individual needs. Please encourage your child to take their time and work to the best of his/her ability.

Attendance on testing days is extremely important. Please refrain from scheduling doctor appointments on these days as it is always best to have students test in their own classroom. Any child who arrives late to school for the State AIR Assessment will not be permitted to join the class for the test. He or she will have to make it up at an alternative time.

Below are a few suggestions to help your child be successful on each of these assessments:
Keep a positive attitude about tests.
Mark down test days on your calendar so you and your child are both aware of when testing days are occurring.
Make sure your child gets enough sleep the night before the test.
Ensure that your child eats a healthy breakfast. It is difficult to concentrate when you are hungry. Breakfast will still be available at school.
Make sure your child gets up early enough so that he/she will be on time to school and won't feel rushed.
Thank you so much for your support at home!

A Kids Life Music Production

Dear 3 rd , 4 th , & 5 th Grade Parents,

Please join the 3 rd , 4 th , & 5 th Graders Thursday, November 15 th as we present our Music Program “A Kids Life!” The program will begin at 7:00PM and will be performed at the brand new Groveport Madison High School Auditorium! Students will need to arrive at 6:40 PM and report to the choir room. Students need to dress up for the program and the school dress code must be followed (no spaghetti straps, flip flops, high heels, sagging or ripped pants, etc.). Students need to wear clothing that has NO writing or large pictures on it.

Attendance at the program is expected for all students unless they are sick. If you know your child will not be able to attend, a note informing us of the absence needs to be sent to school.

The morning of the performance, we will be traveling to the High School to rehearse on the stage. Students who continue to have behavior issues at school will NOT be permitted to go on the field trip or perform in the evening performance.

The students are working to prepare the program and are doing an excellent job! They are excited to perform for you November 15th!
