DEC Commissioner meets with weather and climate experts... Dr. Jie Zhang of the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center (ASRC) at UAlbany gives new DEC Commissioner Amanda Lefton, a UAlbany alumna, a tour of the University's mobile laboratory which is equipped with research-grade instruments that can measure air pollutants. During her visit to ETEC on December 30, the commissioner and her team had a chance to speak at length with other members of ASRC, the Department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, the State Weather Risk Communication Center, and the NYS Mesonet.

Forging academic partnerships around the world... A UAlbany delegation, led by President Havidán Rodríguez, visited four universities in India in January establishing and expanding academic and research partnerships.

In his new role in Albany Mayor Dorcey Applyrs's administration, Sean will help develop strategies to address key issues facing younger residents.

... to the State of the City... A UAlbany contingent led by President Havidán Rodríguez was on hand for Mayor Dorcey Applyrs's inaugural State of the City Address at the Albany West Community Center on January 29. President Rodríguez serves as a member of Mayor Applyrs's Transition Team, co-chairing her committee on Economic Development and Growth Strategies.
