Supporting veterans and their families... Congratulations to the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Veteran Peer Support Project, this year's recipient of the UAlbany President's Award for Exemplary Public Engagement, presented during President Havidán Rodríguez's Fall Address to the University Community on October 29. The project is a partnership between the Dwyer Coalition, the New York State Office of Mental Health, the New York State Department of Veterans’ Services and UAlbany.

Many hands make light work!... On October 25, UAlbany students joined community residents to take part in a fall neighborhood cleanup in midtown Albany.

Talking politics, productively... Former Congressman Chris Gibson was the guest for our Leading Questions discussion series on October 24. The conversation focused on promoting civil discourse and civic engagement.

Happy Halloween!... UAlbany presented its annual Dunk-or-Treat celebration for hundreds of local kids and their families on the downtown campus on October 26. The program, co-sponsored by UAlbany Men's Basketball, the Liberty Partnerships Program, and the Alpha Phi Omega community service fraternity, featured trick-or-treating, music, food, inflatables, face painting, games, and more.

Erie Canal Bicentennial... On October 7, UAlbany partnered with WMHT Public Media, the NYS Canal Corporation, and the Erie Canal Museum to present a screening of WMHT's new documentary Reflections on the Erie Canal. The screening was followed by a community discussion in the Campus Center West Auditorium.
