"Q & A WITH RAY"

What kinds of maintenance or recertification is required with the HOT-STOP ‘L’ Fire Containment Kits?
The firefighting materials engineered into HOT-STOP ‘L’ products provide an unhindered shelf life and require minimal periodic maintenance that simply consists of visual inspection. There is no need for recertification. We do recommend using a beeswax zipper lubricant as needed that can be purchased at any hardware store. It is also important to note that HOT-STOP is considered Carry-On Emergency Safety Equipment.
Why are the internal dimensions of the HOT-STOP ‘L’ bags different from the exterior?
Early on when we first started this business in 2007, we recognized the need for a variety of bag sizes to not only accommodate the different PED sizes but contain them with zero tolerance. Therefore, we always like to assist customers when selecting the appropriate size for the types of devices they are carrying on board. As part of the design there are baffles that line the bag just below the hook and loop closure. The PED must fit inside the bag below the baffles to secure its containment. Therefore, our largest vessel has an exterior size of 27” x 26” but the interior size limit for the device is 23” x 17”.
