I-15 Express Lanes
15 Project Girders are "On the Go"

Have you seen the heaviest concrete girders ever to be made in California? These 132-ton girders will be traveling at night by truck over the next several months from Perris to the Santa Ana River Bridge in Norco.

Crews will widen the massive Santa Ana River Bridge using 55 girders. The girders will make a three-hour trek with CHP escorts on southbound I-215 to westbound Murrieta Hot Springs Road, and then on northbound I-15 to Norco, a distance of about 61 miles.
The girder transport will occur intermittently on weeknights during off-peak hours, beginning at 1 a.m. Motorists can expect short traffic breaks and lane closures over the next few months until all 55 girders complete their journey to the project site.

Intermittent lane reductions also are scheduled on northbound and southbound 15, between Weirick Rd. and State Route 60, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., weeknights. During lane reductions, at least one lane will remain open at all times.

Closures on northbound and southbound express lane connectors are also planned intermittently on weeknights.

The schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, Sept. 4th, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.
-Northbound 15 - Hidden Valley on & off-ramp, use Second St.

Thursday, Sept. 5th, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
-Northbound 15 - Hidden Valley on- & off-ramp, use Second St.
-Southbound 15 - Cantu-Galleano Ranch Rd. On-ramp, use Riverside Dr.

-WB91/ NB 15 Connector

60 Swarm Pavement Rehabilitation Project:  Full closures of eastbound State Route 60, between I-15 and the 60/91/215 interchange in Riverside, are scheduled over the next several weekends. No closures are planned for the Labor Day weekend. For more information, visit

Cajalco Rd. / I-15 Interchange Improvement Project:  Alternating freeway lane and ramp closures are scheduled. Visit  for closure information.

Limonite Ave / I-15 Interchange Improvement Project:  For complete schedule and closure information, visit .

The 15 Express Lanes project will add two tolled express lanes in each direction on I-15 between Cajalco Road and SR-60, a distance of approximately 15 miles. Drivers will be able to enter and exit the tolled facility at multiple locations, and the project continues RCTC's ongoing commitment to expand the express lanes network. Construction in the median began in March 2018. The new lanes are expected to open in 2020.

Due to the dynamic nature of construction, this information is subject to change.
